What if I don’t have my own bow or arrows?
Hit or Miss Archery provides rental services for bows, arrows, and accessories, so you can shoot even if you don't have your own equipment. Of course, once you're hooked, you may want to look into buying your own gear from our Pro Shop! Our technicians can find you the exact right gear to outfit you successfully for target shooting or bow hunting.
What is archery tag?
Archery tag is a combat-style game played with non-lethal arrows. It's similar to laser tag, dodgeball, or paintball, but the players must hit each other with arrows to score points and eliminate members of the other team. Our non-lethal arrows have foam tips that protect players from injury. Players are also equipped with facemasks and other protective equipment to make sure no one gets hurt. At Hit or Miss Archery, we play archery tag after hours so that players get the full run of the indoor shooting range to have fun!
Is it difficult to use a bow?
Many people think that a good shooter needs to be extremely strong to draw back a bow, but this simply isn't true. If you are using the right bow for your size, you shouldn't have much trouble shooting at all. Our professional technicians can help you find the right equipment to make your shooting experience the best it can be.
Is archery dangerous?
Any sport that involves a weapon can be dangerous if practiced improperly. Archery is very safe when you know what you are doing and follow safety rules. At Hit or Miss Archery, we enforce strict rules to ensure safety for everyone at our indoor shooting range. We also teach all of our clients safety techniques for when they're bow hunting out in the wild.
How can I get better at shooting?
As with any sport, hobby, or activity, the best way to get better is practice! We recommend spending some time in our indoor shooting range so you can work on your accuracy and aim. Another great way to get better at shooting is to take lessons. No matter your experience level, our certified instructors can help you improve your technique.
When should I bring my bow in for a tune-up?
Because of the regular wear and tear that you will put your bow through by using it, we recommend you bring your bow in for a tune-up at least once a year.
You should bring your bow in immediately if you have done any of the following:
- Dropped your bow
- Dry fired your bow (shot the bow without nocking an arrow)
These situations can make your bow malfunction and can be dangerous for you if the bow is not retuned or repaired.
